 Daniel Hernandez, born May 8, 1996, is an American rapper from America. He's also referred to as Tekashi69 and 6ix9ine (pronounced "six-nine") His music has been marked by an aggressive style of rapping. his public image is distinguished by his distinct hair color, numerous tattoos, legal concerns, and publicized celebrity fights. Hernandez gained a lot of attention in the latter half of 2017 following the release of his debut single "Gummo" that was a sleeper hit. The mixtape Day69 (2018) was released by Hernandez. It included three singles "Kooda", Keke, and "Gotti" All three were charted on the Billboard Hot 100. The album he released was Dummy Boy (2018)'s single "Fefe" with Nicki Minaj, Murda Beatz and Murda Beatz, climbed to number three on the Hot 100. Despite the negative reviews, Dummy Boy was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Hernandez was convicted in 2015 to a felony charge of using a child in sexual activities. He was sentenced to a 4 year term of probation and 1000 hours of community service. Hernandez was also accused of racketeering and drugs and weapons in 2018. He was sentenced to 47 years of prison. He pleaded guilty in February 2019 to nine charges, including conspiracy to murder and the armed burglary. Hernandez was a witness at the trial and sentenced to two years in prison. In April 2020, he was granted early release during the COVID-19 pandemic following fears of his vulnerability to the disease due to his asthma-related condition. He was placed on house arrest for the rest of his sentence and released in early August 2020. Following his release from prison his single "Gooba" was released and reached the top three spots in the US and "Trollz" which was his third collaboration with Minaj, debuted at the top spot in the country. His sophomore album, TattleTales 2020 (2020) was released at number four on the US Billboard 200. Hernandez was widely criticized for his part in the Nine Trey Gangsters case as an expert witness, and was ostracized from the hip-hop community. Even though he has seen some commercial success since his release from prison, Hernandez has effectively been blacklisted from major streaming platforms and radio.
