Michelle Lynn Monaghan Bio

Michelle Lynn Monaghan (born March 23 in 1976) is an American actress. She is best known for her starring roles in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005), Gone Baby Gone (2007), Made of Honor (2008), Eagle Eye (2008), Trucker (2008), Source Code (2011), Pixels (2015), and Patriots Day (2016). Her leading role in Mission: Impossible III (2006), Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol (2011) and Mission: Impossible Fallout (2018) has earned her praise. Monaghan was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award as Best Supporting Actress. In the drama The Path, a drama series The Path (2016), she played the character of Sarah Lane. Monaghan was the lead in the 2020 Netflix thriller, Messiah. It was pulled after one season. Monaghan was the daughter of Sharon Hammel and Robert Monaghan (a factory worker) and was born in Winthrop, Iowa. Her older brothers are, Bob and John. Monaghan is mostly of Irish and German roots and was raised Catholic.She graduated from East Buchanan High School in 1994. After graduating, Monaghan moved to Chicago to pursue a journalism degree before pursuing modeling. She modeled in Milan, Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong, as well as in the United States. She quit New York for an acting career after finishing her 1999 journalism degree. Prior to becoming an actor, she worked as a model and appeared in numerous catalogs and magazines. Monaghan's first two credited television appearances, as a support role she played Caroline Busse in episodes of Young Americans, which aired in 2000. She also appeared on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in "Consent", an episode that aired on January 19 2001. Monaghan also made her debut on screen that same year in Perfume as the character of Henrietta. She also acted as a actor in a supporting role in Unfaithful in 2002. It starred Richard Gere, Diane Lane and many others.
