Sofia Margarita Vergara

Sofia Margarita Vergara (Spanish: 10 July 1972) is a Colombian American actress TV producer, presenter, and model. Vergara was the highest-paid female actress on American television from 2013 until 2020. Vergara rose in prominence in her role as host of two shows on Univision's Spanish-language television network in the late 1990s. Chasing Papi (2003) was her first major acting role in English. Then, she was in Four Brothers (2006) and Tyler Perry's comedy Come To Jail (2008). She was nominated for an ALMA Award for the former. She first made her mark as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in ABC's comedy series Modern Family in 2009. As a result of this role, she was honored with four Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards. Her voice-overs included Happy Feet Two (2011) and Escape from Planet Earth (2013). She was also in The Emoji Movie (2017). Vergara was the highest-paid Hollywood actress in 2020[citation needed]. Vergara is the judge of America's Got Talent since 2020. Vergara was born to an Roman Catholic family in Barranquilla. [8] Her mother, Margarita Vergara de Vergara was a homemaker as was her father. Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo was a rancher of cattle for the meat industry. The five siblings of her and many of her relatives have referred to her as "Toti". Vergara initially studied dentistry for three years at National University of Colombia, but she left two semesters away from completing her education to pursue opportunities in modeling and show business.
