Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born in Dallas,
Texas, to Gayle (Gaston) she was Director of the national office at Mary Kay,
and Freddie Wright an executive in the field of pharmaceuticals. She was born
in San Diego, California. She began her professional career as a model in 1980
at age 14, and was a model in Paris and Japan. She made the decision to become
an actress after she graduated high school. She was offered a role on the soap
opera Santa Barbara (1984), and she was nominated for three daytime Emmy Awards.
She was in love with Dane Witherspoon during the first season. They got married
in the year 1986. She starred as the princess bride (1987) in the role of the
title. After being let go of the cast of Santa Barbara, she got the starring
role in Denial (1990) along with Jason Patric. It was during State of Grace
(1990), when she met Sean Penn. They had a daughter Dylan Frances and a son
Hopper Jack. Robin was back in Hollywood with Tara, one of the most memorable
roles in her career, following an absence. She was a stunning actor and an
amazing performer. Then, she appeared in Toys (1992) together in which she
starred alongside Robin Williams. She gave an amazing performance. In 1994,
Wright was in the blockbuster smash Forrest Gump (1994), with Tom Hanks. Wright
was nominated to win a Golden Globe Award for her role in the film as Jenny.
She had a small role in The Crossing Guard (1995) in which she starred Jack
Nicholson. After having rejected 14 roles, she finally got the main role played
by MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996). Pen Densham directed her and Stockard
Channing was the lead. Next, she starred with William Hurt in Erin Dignam’s
Loved (1997).
